KADUNA state governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai on Monday reshuffled the state executive council cabinet and reassigned new portfolios to some commissioners and senior state government officials.

According to the governor’s special adviser for media and communications, Muyiwa Adekeye, the reshuffle was designed “to help mobilize new energy for the last round of government, bring in new ideas and allow commissioners to have more experience. complete government ”.

14 commissioners swapped their portfolios while those of the ministries of Finance, Justice, Health, Housing and Urban Development, Homeland Security and Home Affairs and Social Services and Social Development were not affected by the change.

Muhammad Abdullahi, the governor’s chief of staff has been redeployed to the Planning and Budget Commission, the responsibility he held during El-Rufai’s first term.

This is the second time that a governor’s chief of staff has been reassigned to the post of commissioner.

According to the assistant governor, the new portfolios of commissioners being reassigned are Jaafaru Sani as environment commissioner; Thomas Gyang, Commissioner for Public Works and Infrastructure, Halima Lawal, Commissioner for Education, Ibrahim Hassaini for Agriculture.

Others are Shehu Usman Muhammad as local government commissioner, Kabir Mato as business, innovation and technology commissioner as well as Idris Nyam as sports development commissioner.

The statement titled “Gov. El-Rufai is reshuffling the cabinet, ”said following the passage of the law creating the metropolitan authorities to manage Kaduna, Kafanchan and Zaria as organic towns, the governor appointed three ministerial-level administrators.

They include: Balaraba Aliyu-Inuwa as Administrator, Zaria Metropolitan Authority, Muhammad Hafiz Bayero as Administrator, Kaduna Capital Territory while Phoebe Yayi is Administrator, Kafanchan Municipal Authority.
