Al Ahly TV denies rumors of Amr El-Sulya’s departure, exchanges deal with Pyramids
Al Ahly TV has denied that Amr El-Sulya will be leaving the club anytime soon, while also denying that they have made a deal with Pyramids for a swap deal.
El-Sulya, who signed for Al Ahly in 2016, has become an integral part of the team’s success over the past five years.
The 26-year-old guided them to 11 trophies, including five Egyptian Premier League titles, two Egyptian Cups, two Egyptian Super Cups, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Supercup.
El-Sulya’s contract with the Red Devils is expected to end at the end of next season and the club want to renew it in the coming period. However, a slew of reports recently emerged that linked him to a move, with his agent’s comments also raising many question marks about his future.
His agent, Tamer El-Nahas, said last week his player is keen to renew his contract but hopes to be on loan immediately afterwards if they come to a deal. This further heightened reports linking him to a move away from the Red Castle, which Al Ahly TV reporter Ahmed Samir denied.
Samir also refuted any suggestion that Al Ahly and Pyramids agreed to a swap deal, which would see Nasser Maher go to Pyramids.
“What is rumored about the existence of an agreement between Al Ahly and Pyramids, with the departure of Nasser Maher and Ibrahim Adel in the other direction, is not true,” Samir told Al Ahly TV.
âThe source has not been announced so far. Someone was supposed to be talking about the source of this information, because what it says means there was an agreement in principle, but it did not happen.
âWhat is also reported about the departure of Amr El-Sulya is not at all true. Al Ahly is set to play a crucial Champions League game against Esperance in a few days, and what has been raised about it is incorrect, âhe concluded.
