OXFORD, Miss.- The University of Memphis Athletics finished the weekend at the Ole Miss Classic with seven medals and a total of 28 top-10 performances.

The two-day encounter took place at the Ole Miss Track & Field Complex on Friday and Saturday and was the first of two at Oxford this season.

Cole Riddle was one of seven Tigers to win a medal, finishing first in the men’s pole vault, with a maximum clearance of 5.30m. This performance places him third in the American Athletic Conference standings for the event.

Along with Riddle, the men won four more of the team’s seven medals in both track and field events: D’Angelo Whitehead (third, 100m), Adam Yakobi (third, 400m hurdles), Drew O’Connor (third, pole vault) and Robert Watson (third, 66.22m).

On the women’s side, both Dee Nia McMiller (third, shot put) and mona Jaïdi (second, hammer) grabbed the top three spots.

A few distance athletes did not make it to Oxford, but instead took part in the relays from Raleigh to North Carolina. At Tate Wyatt’s His performance in the 3000 m steeplechase propelled him to third place in the conference standings.
