Barcelona offer January swap deal to Juventus involving Ousmane Dembele

According to El Nacional, Barcelona are ready to swap Ousmane Dembele for Juventus striker Paulo Dybala in order to avoid losing the former Borussia Dortmund man for free this summer.
With just a few weeks left until the transfer window closes, Barcelona have given a final notice to Dembele’s camp. According to the aforementioned source, his representatives have until Wednesday to say whether they will sign a new contract or leave the team this summer.
Barcelona are anticipating a move on a free transfer and are therefore looking for a way that can benefit all parties. And with Juventus showing potential interest, a direct swap offer would be beneficial for everyone involved.
Although Barcelona’s interest in Alvaro Morata persists, Massimiliano Allegri’s reluctance to lose the Atletico striker has forced the Catalan club to look elsewhere. Besides, Dybala can fit in perfectly while Dembele can also accommodate Allegri’s desire to add more attacking numbers in January.
Dybala’s situation at Juventus is identical to Dembele’s. The Argentine striker has a contract until June 2022 and, like the Frenchman, has struggled to deal with the Juventus board. With the Turin-based club ready to get rid of the 28-year-old, this could be the best way for Barcelona to squeeze some positives out of the whole fiasco.
The Catalan club don’t really have much time. If they fail to agree a deal this month, there’s a good chance the 24-year-old will leave this summer. However, contrary to what was said in the news, Dembele wants to renew but his agent’s words don’t go in the same direction as Xavi admitted today.
As things stand, the next few hours are going to be extremely crucial not only for Barcelona but also for the player.
