4. Reminder: declare unspent scholarship funds aged 16 to 19
16 to 19 Scholarships Funding can be carried over to the following academic year, but no longer than one year. We would like to remind you that you must contact ESFA to reimburse any unspent funds each year – some providers have recently reported unspent funds that have accumulated over several years, in violation of scholarship fund rules.
More information, including how to contact ESFA to reimburse unspent funds, can be found in the Scholarship Fund Guide 16-19.
We also request that when making contact regarding the repayment of funds, you specify in your email the amount of funding being returned and what year the funding is from. This is especially important if funds for more than a year are involved.
5. Information: 16 to 19 unspent tuition fees 2020 to 2021
Due to further disruption to learning due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), any proportion of unspent funds for 16-19 year old tuition fees for the 2020-2021 academic year can now be used to support students. students of the academic year 2021 to 2022. It should always be spent and recorded in the detailed manner in the Tuition Fund Guidelines 16 to 19.

6. Information: summer schools – updated funding allocations and guidance
As part of the wider recovery program to support children in their mental health and well-being and to make up for missed face-to-face learning, £ 200million funding is available for secondary schools to to offer face-to-face summer courses this year.
To allow more high schools to participate in the program and to maximize the funding available for special schools and alternative education institutions, we have changed the funding allocations for schools.
You can still enroll in the program to indicate that you intend to organize a summer school.
In June, the initial registration form will be replaced by a confirmation form, when we ask you to confirm, by the end of June, your summer school schedule and the number of student places offered. Schools that did not complete the initial registration form can still join the program by completing the June confirmation form. Schools with a new funding allocation, such as those with older students, must wait until the June confirmation form opens to register. We will work directly with schools open in September 2021, which may not be able to access the June registration form, to confirm their summer programs.
Subject to overall participation, schools may be able to request funding to cover additional places and may request this in the June confirmation form. These schools will be notified promptly of any additional funding, but should plan to run their summer courses within their published maximum allocation in the interim.
The summer school guidelines have been updated to reflect these changes.

7. Info: check my financial info (VMFI) – new login accounts for managed schools.
The View My Financial Information (VMFI) tool is now available for managed schools, providing quick information on your school’s financial condition and performance. It provides automated assessment of potential resource management areas, linked to relevant guidance, and access to resources tailored to each school. Local authorities can see this for all of their schools in one place and in-depth analysis for each school.
If you work in a managed school, we recommend that you use your DfE Sign-in (DSI) account to access your school’s complete data. If you don’t have one, you can create a DfE login account.
Once your DSI account is linked to your organization, the service you need is called View Your Education Data (VYED). Your organization’s approver will grant you access and assign you a VMFI role.
If you work in a community, we recommend that you continue to use your IDAMS account.
Register now for a VMFI training webinar Tuesday June 8 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
8. Information: school resource management user group
We invite our colleagues from local authorities and managed schools to join a targeted user group to help shape the future school resource management (SRM) strategy over the next 3 years.
Please fill out this form to register your interest before June 10 to be reviewed.
