Georgia hosts Fresno State for home opener

ATHENS, Georgia —

The University of Georgia’s No. 2 Equestrian Team will host the No. 7 Fresno State in their home opener on Friday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. at the UGA Equestrian Complex in Bishop.

The Bulldogs fell in the season opener at Auburn with a final score of 13-7. First year Isabella Hehr (Reining) and second year Hannah smith (Flat) made his starting lineup debut against the Tigers. Junior Gracie Himes earned her first career victory in riding after scoring a 77.5 and a second Emma Reichow reached his career best score of 89 in fencing.

This week fifth year senior Hayley mairano and second Jordan toering should roll for both the dish and the fences. Junior Rachel mcmullen and second year students Emma Reichow and Song of Izzy will also compete in the Fences range. second year students Nora Andrews and Sophie Pilla, and junior Céci Bresch will roll flat. West side, second year Lea Anderson, junior Gracie Himes and seniors Taylor burgess, Kendall gill, and Sara lewis will participate in the horse riding event. Rookie sophomore Isabella Hehr to enter the ring for Reining Sophie lucas, and the elderly Courtney blumer, Lindsay Guynn, and Caitlin Lyon.

The Fresno State Bulldogs got off to a 2-0 start to the season with victories over No.9 South Carolina and No.6 TCU, both at home. Georgia and Fresno State last met in the 2019-20 season, with UGA securing a 10-6 victory over FSU in California.
