Located in the historic Grand Avenue Arts District, Hawk Salvage offers a carefully curated selection of vintage, industrial, salvaged, antique and unique finds and curiosities, as well as a wide selection of rare and unique houseplants.

On Sunday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Hawk Salvage will host its very first Community Plant Exchange. Mix and mingle with other plant lovers, learn tips and tricks from other green thumbs, and bring home some new greenery to brighten up a home or office space.

To participate in the plant swap, bring at least one living, healthy plant or a rooted cutting to swap with another plant or mowing of equal size. Hawk Salvage will have planting stations and soil available for a small fee of up to $ 10, depending on the size of the plant. Bring a jar or browse the selection of unique jars and glassware for sale at Hawk Salvage.

For those looking to expand their plant collection, the store will offer rare and imported plants for purchase, such as Medusa’s Head from South Africa, Gonolobus, an edible fruit climbing plant from Mexico, as well as several types of Pothos, Monsteras and Philodendrons. During the event there will be live music, food trucks and artist demonstrations.

Hawk Salvage was founded by Greg hawk (aka Hawk), a retired Phoenix Fire Department captain and self-proclaimed “picker”. What started out as a hobby has turned into a lifelong passion to uncover the lost treasures of history. With a keen eye and a knack for unearthing rare gems, Hawk travels the United States with a truck and trailer, personally selecting every item for the store. This isn’t your typical vintage home decor store, guests won’t find chalk painted furniture, inspirational panels, or pallet wood crafts at Hawk Salvage, and the inventory is constantly changing. From the building, which was previously a 1940s car workshop, to everything in the store, everything has a story. Hawk is happy to share them with anyone who walks through the doors.

Hawk Salvage is located at 1109 Grand Avenue, Phoenix, 85007. The store is generally open Friday and Saturday, noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 6 p.m., with extended hours during the holidays and the first Friday. New articles are regularly posted on Instagram @HawkSalvage.
