‘It would work’ – Pundit suggests Spurs and Chelsea duo should swap clubs this summer – Spurs Web

Mark Lawrenson has suggested Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku should swap clubs between Tottenham and Chelsea this summer.
Both forwards have been through mixed spells in their respective teams this term despite recording stellar campaigns last time out.
Lukaku has failed to demonstrate why Chelsea paid over £97million to re-sign him from Inter Milan (BBC Sport), having scored just five Premier League goals in 17 appearances so far. present (Transfermarkt).
A similar thing could have been said of Tottenham talisman Kane, who struggled to get off to a good start at the start of the season after suffering a Euro 2020 final defeat and a failed move to Manchester City (Sky Sports) .
But the England captain has seen his performance rise in recent weeks and was at the forefront of a Spurs-inspired side that beat league leaders City 3-2 on Saturday. Unfortunately, he couldn’t score against Burnley in the 1-0 loss last night.
Former Liverpool defender Lawrenson has floated the idea of a swap deal for the two hitmen at the end of the season but admitted such moves won’t happen due to the obvious rivalry between the two parts.
Lawrenson told Off The Ball: “I talked about Lukaku and Kane, what about that summer trade.
“Lukaku is going to Tottenham to play with Conte again. And Kane is going to Chelsea. I don’t think that will ever happen because they hate each other, do they? But I was just watching the way the two forwards were playing.
“Before Saturday, Kane was struggling. The same could be said of him: “Was he thinking about last summer? How he didn’t go to Man City. And does he think about the approaching summer when he could go?
“Swap for both would work for fun. But I think Lukaku will be gone this summer and Chelsea will reinvest.
Boosts web opinion
Kane to Chelsea and Lukaku to Spurs would simply never happen. Kane is more valuable to his club than Lukaku is to his, and the rivalry between the two teams will not be set aside for an alleged blockbuster swap like this.
