Jude Bellingham chooses Steven Gerrard as ultimate jersey swap
Jude Bellingham says Steven Gerrard is his ultimate England jersey swap. However, he admits it’s a close call.
Justice Bellingham clearly respects Steven Gerrard. He showed that in a recent video for the FA’s YouTube channel.
Bellingham did a question-and-answer session with the fans and an interesting question arose: if you could trade shirts with any English player past or present, who would it be?
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder was quick to respond – but he ended up thinking a bit more about it.

“Definitely close, but I think the two are far away.
“I think I would go Gerrard, though. Just because, you know, # 8, a position similar to me. So yeah, I would probably go with him.
This isn’t the first time Bellingham has shown admiration for Gerrard. Just a few months ago, he posted a video of the former Reds captain on Twitter.
Bellingham is clearly a Gerrard fan – and maybe that can count for something someday.
Liverpool want Bellingham
Eurosport claims Liverpool have been watching Bellingham for a short time. This is no surprise to anyone.
The teenager exploded in Dortmund, quickly proving himself an international standard. There really doesn’t seem to be any limit to his potential right now – he’s an elite talent.
So it’s only natural that Liverpool have an eye or two on things, then. They will want to be there when he is available. And unfortunately from Dortmund’s point of view, their players still do.
It looks like the Reds will miss Jadon Sancho from there. He seems destined for Manchester United, which is really quite sickening.
Bellingham will surely follow in his footsteps in England one day, however. We can’t imagine it being a year or two away, unless the youngster reaches incredible heights during that time.
But eventually it will be on the market. Maybe his admiration for Gerrard can play a part? Liverpool can indeed guarantee him that No.8 shirt down the line.
We will certainly cross our fingers that this is the case. Bellingham is a rare talent and one we would like to see in Liverpool someday.
