Juventus reject Barcelona swap deal involving Memphis Depay
Barcelona saw their incredible swap deal involving Memphis Depay rejected by Juventus, with Massimiliano Allegri. not convinced by the form or injury record of the Dutchman
Within days of the January transfer window, weird and wonderful rumors and investigations are starting to unfold, and one of the first major stories has already emerged.
Barcelona received a heavy blow as Sergio Aguero withdrew from the game early on medical grounds, and the Catalan side have announced the signing of Ferran Torres from Manchester City to kick off their 2022.
However, it looks like they’re not done with it there, and they even approached Juventus while proposing Memphis Depay as a makeweight.
The Italian team rejected the sensational approach, leaving Barcelona to look elsewhere.

Depay was signed by Barcelona this summer, but despite a respectable goal return so far, it looks like new boss Xavi Hernandez is happy to let him go in order to sign Spaniard Alvaro Morata.
Morata is on loan to Juventus from Atletico Madrid, and Barcelona have offered their summer signing in exchange for the Spain striker, although this approach was rejected by Massimiliano Allegri.
How is that possible with a loan player you ask? Morata is on a two-year loan from Atletico which cost the Italian giants £ 16.75million, with the possibility of buying the striker in June 2022 for an additional £ 30million.
With Morata wanted by Barcelona and the striker very happy to leave, if both sides can find a suitable swap deal while also arranging the logistics with Atletico, then a transfer could be considered.
The only problem is that it is Barcelona who are desperately seeking the deal, and according to Football Italia Allegri has rejected their approach as he is not convinced by Depay and would prefer a natural center-forward.
Barcelona don’t currently have that center-forward Juventus could seek, which will be a big blow to Morata and Xavi.
The report claims that Alegeri is looking for a more classic striker and is unconvinced by Depay’s recent form and injury record, bringing the proceedings to a close.
Morata did not perform as expected at Juventus, and the Spaniard has only scored seven goals in 23 appearances for the Old Lady, and the Italian giants remain one of the least scoring teams in Serie A.
Juventus suffered a lot following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Turin this summer, but Barcelona suffered a similar loss with their striking power drastically reduced when Luis Suarez left last season, before Antoine Griezmann and Lionel Messi left. the club in quick succession.
Another potential alternative for both sides is Arsenal outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang following his falling out with Mikel Arteta.
But he’s not ideal either as his salary is not only considered far too high, but he will compete in the Africa Cup of Nations next month.
