As of September 10, 2022, NIO users have performed more than 12 million cumulative battery swaps, the startup said. Currently, over 30,000 battery replacements can be performed at NIO Power Swap stations per day.
So far, approximately 64.13% of NIO users have lived in “Swap Station District Houses”, which refers to residences located within a 3 km radius of an NIO battery swap station. This percentage should be increased to more than 90% by 2025.
Of the battery swap stations deployed so far, a total of 292 stations are located along highways.
NIO aims to realize the deployment of an intercity expressway battery exchange network of “nine vertical expressways + nine horizontal + 19 urban clusters” in China by 2025.
The electric vehicle maker expects its total number of battery swapping stations to exceed 1,300 by 2022 in China and reach 4,000 globally by 2025.
