Open registration for 2023 benefits ends Tuesday; register before 6 p.m. ET
There’s still time to actively register for 2023 benefits. Open registration for 2023 benefits ends at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday (November 8). Reminder information for Purdue University and Purdue Global employees regarding open enrollment is outlined below.
WEST LAFAYETTE, FORT WAYNE AND NORTHWEST EMPLOYEES
Employees can log in to Benefitfocus via the OneCampus Portal (select the “Benefits Open Enrollment for Faculty & Staff” banner) using their Purdue and BoilerKey career account username or through the Benefitplace mobile app. Watch the Benefitplace app video for more information.
Note: Be aware of a current system issue in Benefitfocus that affects summary information on medical insurance rates. Many employees have reported that after completing their registration, the medical price summary is showing higher than it should be. This is a known issue and Benefitfocus is working on a solution. Hopefully the issue will be resolved before the end of open registration; however, there is no reason to delay registration. Employees must continue to register by 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday (November 8). A communication will be sent once the issue has been resolved. Correct rates will be billed in January. Again, employees are encouraged to complete their enrollment for 2023 benefits now.
With the exception of Health Savings Accounts, Health Reimbursement Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts, current benefits will roll over into 2023 unless employees log into Benefitfocus and make new selections. Those wishing to have an HSA, HRA or FSA must log into Benefitfocus and elect them for 2023.
Smoking Survey and Working Spouse Certification must be completed as responses may affect premiums. Employees who do not complete the Smoking Survey and Working Spouse Certification annually upon enrollment will be charged the additional smoker premium (for employee and spouse, if covered) and the working spouse premium (for the spouse, if covered) the next year plan.
Additionally, employees are encouraged to double-check the dependents they cover for each benefit. Employees should select the green bubble (with the dependent’s name) for each benefit they would like their dependent to be covered for. Once enrollment is complete, employees should review the summary to ensure that their dependents are listed and receiving benefits coverage as intended.
Note on term life insurance: For those who have requested an increase in their term life insurance benefits, a health review process called Evidence of Insurability (EOI) is required to ensure that they may be approved for increased coverage. This process appears at the end, after someone completes their registration, but does not currently allow the process to complete. Securian will follow up with anyone needing to complete the EOI process a few weeks after registration ends. However, Benefitfocus captures enrollment choices for all other benefits.
The website dedicated to open registrations 2023 has information and resources to help individuals complete their registration.
