Pompey v Coventry: Stadium info – News
Pompey host Championship side Coventry at Fratton Park for a pre-season friendly on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
The match serves as a test event for the revamped South Stand, allowing access points and security arrangements to be checked ahead of the new League One campaign.
The club have requested the first league game to be played away due to construction work, which is ahead of schedule thanks to the brilliant efforts of the construction team and many others who have worked without relax behind the scenes.
Saturday’s game serves as a test event to allow us to operate the South Stand at 75% capacity, which will help achieve safety certification for the new league season.
That means the game day experience won’t quite work 100%.
There has not been enough time to fully stock the new concession stands, so a hybrid distribution and dispensing system involving mobile units will be used.
There will be a mix of draft and bottled beer available for purchase in these units and fans will see continued improvement until the lobby work is completed towards the end of September.
The Victory Bar will be open to supporters from 12 p.m., but will be closed at half-time and after the match.
We would like to thank all supporters for their patience as the redevelopment work is finalized over the next few weeks.
Tickets are still available for Saturday’s game, as well as Monday night’s Pompey Women friendly against Brighton. Click here to secure your seat.
