You are probably reading the Foreigner books right now preparing for the ninth book. Go tell the bees that I’m gone arrives on November 23, and we couldn’t be more excited than we already are.
For those who are done with reading and looking for something else to read, or for those who don’t read the books and are just waiting Foreigner Season 6, there are other great books out there. One of them just came out today, Tuesday October 5th.
Vacation exchange by Maggie Knox is definitely something to check out during Droughtlander, especially if you like cute Christmas romance novels. Think of it like a Hallmark movie in a book.
What is Maggie Knox’s The Holiday Swap about?
The book follows identical twin sisters, and I’m sure you can see exactly where that is going. After Charlie Goodwin suffers a concussion that makes him unable to smell or taste, his job is in danger. She is the co-host of a baking show and she fights for the chance to host her own series on her own. She must be able to taste and smell!
So she turns to her sister Cass. They change places, giving Cass the chance to gain confidence and find love in LA and giving Charlie the chance to experience life in her small town by running the family bakery she has known for. that she is small.
Of course, there is romance for both. The two sisters hook up with someone while pretending to be each other, and you wonder how these men will react when they learn the whole truth. Will the story end with them pretending to be each other forever?
Why read The Holiday Swap during the drought
It’s definitely not something like Foreigner. It doesn’t have the radical love story that unfolds throughout a series of books. It’s a short read. It only took me a few hours to read compared to the days it can take me to get through the Foreigner books.
There is nothing wrong with short reads, however. Sometimes you just want the story without a lot going on around the drama.
When it comes to Droughtlander, you often just want to fill in the time and explore different authors. You want to get out of your comfort zone and try out different kinds of books. Vacation exchange by Maggie Knox is going to give you that chance because it’s pure romance rather than fitting into all genres that Foreigner Is.
It’s also fun and light. There are no absolutely heartbreaking moments that Foreigner offers. You are sure to be left with a smile on your face by the end of the book.
