Report: Juventus hope to trade McKennie with Arsenal midfielder

As the horrific start to the season proved, Juve’s midfielder department remains a major problem. The arrival of Manuel Locatelli has surely improved the squad, but due to the lack of a natural Regista, the Euro 2020 winner has to function as a deep playmaker.
The former Sassuolo man did not embarrass himself in the process, but his profound role prevents him from supporting the team from the start as a box-to-box midfielder.
Therefore, the Bianconeri could try to strengthen this position again as soon as the transfer market opens in January.
According to CalcioMercatoWeb.it Going through TuttoJuve, management are interested in Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka and are willing to offer Weston McKennie in exchange for his services.
The Switzerland international came close to joining José Mourinho’s Roma in the last transfer market of the summer, but he ended up renewing his contract with the Gunners until 2024.
The 28-year-old has been operating in the middle of the park for North Londoners since leaving Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2016. Nonetheless, his relationship with the club’s fans has been difficult due to some past incidents.
On the other hand, McKennie has failed to convince Max Allegri so far, and Juventus are no longer keen on maintaining their services due to incidents off the pitch – including one with USMNT.
We will have to wait and see if there is any truth to this report, or if it is just talk on paper.
