Sabrina Bianco named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – After a 2-0 week which included wins over SMU and Temple, senior passer Sabrina bianco was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. This is Bianco’s second weekly honor of the season, as she was named AAC’s offensive player of the week on September 6 following Memphis’ three-game winning performance at the Central Arkansas Invitational.
Last week, Bianco recorded a double-double against the Mustangs and the Owls. In total, Bianco had 100 sets to lead the squad and added 36 digs, the second biggest on the squad. The senior added four aces and three blocks in an impressive two-game performance.
The fourth-year passer is approaching 1,000 assists this season, with 944 in the team’s first 26 games. Bianco is second on the team in recoveries per set (2.69) and second in serving aces (22). For his career, Bianco has more than 3,200 assists in 95 games, including nearly 2,600 in 65 games for the Tigers.
Memphis is back in action Thursday with a trip to Orlando to face UCF at 6 p.m., while the Tigers end the weekend with a game at 12 p.m. Saturday at USF.
