The Big Hoot sticker swapping event in Ipswich
12:00 p.m. August 21, 2022
Sticker collectors looking to find the missing pieces from their Big Hoot albums can get together for a “big sticker swap.”
Free events organized by East of England Co-op and Archant aim to help collectors complete their Big Hoot sticker books.
The Big Hoot Trail, launched by St Elizabeth Hospice, is Ipswich’s third art trail which features over 100 owl statues large and small spread across the town.
The Big Hoot Sticker Book encourages collectors to fill it with 50 stickers, including 10 highly sought-after “shiny ones”.
The book also features the 115 carvings and a map of where to find them on the trail.
The first sticker swapping event took place on Wednesday August 17 at the East of England Co-op’s Pinewood store.
The second free event will take place on Wednesday August 31 at the East of England Co-op’s Big Hoot, Future Holder, on the Cornhill in Ipswich.
Lynn Warner, Head of Engagement for the East of England Co-op, said: ‘Families and young children always love the sticker books that line the art paths of St Elizabeth Hospice, and this year does not exception.
“Along with Archant, we’ll be spending two days in Ipswich doing these special sticker swapping events when people can come in, give away all the stickers they have multiples of and try to get their hands on the ones they’re missing.
Ally Harris of Archant said: “We love being involved in the artistic trails of St Elizabeth Hospice. This year it has been great to see so many families participating in the Big Hoot with their sticker books and we hope our events help people complete their collections.
The East of England Co-op has also distributed packets of wildflower seeds to people who want to grow flowers in their gardens and help attract more bees, butterflies and birds.
Big Hoot sticker books and stickers are available to buy from select East of England Co-op stores, St Elizabeth Hospice stores and online.
Vouchers for a free sticker pack are included in the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star newspapers. They are available in the EADT editions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and in the Ipswich Star newspaper on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
