Tigers receive 2021 NIT Championship rings

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – The Memphis Tigers returning to the 2021 National Invitational Tournament title received their championship rings Thursday night at the Laurie-Walton Family Basketball Center.
Last March, Memphis beat Dayton, Boise State, Colorado State and Mississippi State to win the NIT Championship and end the 2020-21 campaign with a 20-8 record. The Tigers were playing some of their best basketball at the end of the season, winning 11 of their last 13 games with the only losses to Final Four participant Houston by a total of five points.
The NIT Championship banner will be unveiled at FedExForum ahead of the 12th-ranked Tigers 2021-22 season opener on Tuesday night against Tennessee Tech. Departure is at 7 p.m.
