Tottenham transfer news: Southampton could accept four Spurs players in swap deal with Ings | Football | sport
Tottenham are keen to sign Danny Ings this summer, but Southampton’s stance on a sell makes the deal difficult to close. The Saints want to keep their star striker, who has only one year left on his current contract.
So much so that they would rather lose it on a free transfer next year than sell it now.
Ralph Hasenhuttl thinks Ings’s goals could be the difference between a berth in the first half and a relegation fight and so he’s priceless.
Still, that won’t stop Spurs from taking their chances as they look to lend support and backing to Harry Kane, who could still leave this summer.
With Southampton refusing to budge, Express Sport are examining four players Tottenham could include in a more cash player deal to soften the Saints.

Discreet, Sessegnon could be a stellar acquisition for Southampton.
He is still only 21 years old and has enormous potential that Hasenhuttl can help unleash.
Sessegnon was pushed back to left-back in an attempt to move up to Spurs level, but he remains a major goal threat going forward.
Son Heung-min’s excellence could prove problematic when Sessegnon’s attacking minutes hopes are concerned in north London but in Southampton he could really get started.

Southampton are well stocked with a center-back at the moment but they have to think about the prospect of losing Jannik Vestergaard on a free transfer.
Like Ings, the Dane’s contract is due to expire next year and Spurs are already sniffing.
Rodon has shown promise when given a chance, but he is yet to fully convince, although it is still early days.
Nonetheless, it will take a significant package of value to twist Southampton’s arm and given his enormous potential, Rodon could be the perfect weight.
This will hurt Tottenham fans, who have high hopes for Skipp.
Fans probably wouldn’t trade him for the world and they remain desperate for him to succeed at Spurs.
However, Skipp is likely to be of interest to Southampton just like Winks, it suits their style of play.
Skipp has a huge future ahead of him and that could be invaluable to the Saints, although they would definitely need the extra cash or one more player to let Ings go.
