Volleyball announces full summer camp schedule

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA volleyball will host eight unique camps this summer at the Convocation Center.
UTSA will open its camp program on July 6 with a service camp, also hosting a full skills camp on July 7 and 9 and a Lil ‘Runners camp on July 7 and 9. A first contact camp will be organized on July 12 – suitable for the training associated with the various first contacts in volleyball.
A batting camp (July 13), a smuggling camp (July 14) and a libero camp (July 14) will lead to an elite camp of seven sessions from July 16 to 18.

Service camp – July 6e (9 a.m.-12 p.m.)
This camp is all about serving volleyball. Develop the ability to serve the ball like the Roadrunners do! This camp is designed to focus on the different techniques involved in serving, as well as precision and consistency, and to find the serve that best matches your style! Players will learn through fundamental drills, UTSA player demonstrations, as well as challenging games. Campers will receive a maximum of rehearsals during this 3 hour camp.
All Skills Camp – July 7e to 9e (9 a.m.-12 p.m., 1 p.m.-4 p.m.)
This 3-day camp is designed to develop all the skills involved in the sport of volleyball. Starting with the basics, campers will focus on individual development in the areas of serving, passing, passing, attacking and defense. Campers will watch UTSA player demos, followed by field practice segments. This camp will challenge every camper to take their game to the next level.
Little runners camp – July 7e to 9e (5 pm-7pm)
This camp focuses on introducing the game of volleyball to the young player. Lighter balls, lower nets and a modified score will give campers the opportunity to learn in a fun atmosphere with our UTSA players.
1st Contact Camp – July 12e (9 a.m.-12 p.m., 1 p.m.-4 p.m.)
This camp will focus on the training associated with the various 1st volleyball contacts. Service, passing and individual defense will all be covered during the day. This camp is for any player striving to improve these areas, regardless of their position. Campers will receive maximum repetitions through drills and competitions.
Batting Camp – July 13e (9 a.m.-12 p.m., 1 p.m.-4 p.m.)
This camp will only focus on the individual development of campers while attacking in all positions. Campers will receive training on footwork, arm swing mechanics and the relationship with a passer. As a high intensity camp, campers will be challenged and pushed to develop their game.
Camp Setter – July 14e (9 a.m.-12 p.m., 1 p.m.-4 p.m.)
This camp will focus on training associated with the development of skills as a passer. Campers will focus on footwork, hands, consistency / precision and ball control. They will learn through fundamental exercises, demonstrations by UTSA players, as well as challenging games. Campers will receive maximum repetitions throughout the day.
Camp Libero – July 14e (9 a.m.-12 p.m., 1 p.m.-4 p.m.)
This camp is designed to focus on backrow play associated with the responsibilities of a libero. Teaching of individual passing, defense and serving skills will be covered. They will learn through fundamental exercises, demonstrations by UTSA players, as well as challenging games.
Elite Camp – July 16e (2 p.m. start) to July 18e (4 p.m. arrival), 7 sessions in total
This 3-day overnight camp is designed to challenge campers to improve all aspects of their game. Campers will be divided by skill and will work with coaches to develop the skills of serve, pass, place, play. attack, blockade and dig. This camp is designed to meet the needs of each player. Each session will begin with a demonstration by UTSA players, followed by training sessions on the pitch.
