WKU Tennis Opens Fall Season at Austin Peay Invitational
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — WKU Tennis begins its fall season at the Austin Peay Invitational this weekend. The Lady Toppers will face off Friday, September 16 and Sunday, September 18 at the Austin Peay Governors Tennis Courts, with Saturday’s matches being played at the Swan Lake Tennis Complex in Clarksville.
The Austin Peay Invitational will pit the WKU against host Austin Peay, Chattanooga, UT Martin and Murray State.

The final game of the weekend is against Murray State. The Racers beat WKU last spring, 5-2, giving the Lady Toppers an all-time record of 4-18 against them.

This will be the first of two fall tournaments for WKU over the next three weeks.
“I think it will be a tough tournament for us. There are a lot of good teams in this tournament,” the head coach said. Greg Davis said. “We played a lot of them last year and they will be on our schedule this year as well. Austin Peay always puts on a very tough tournament. We can’t wait to see where the team is at at the moment. It will be a good first test because they’re all quality teams, and it’s going to be a challenge. Especially on Saturday when you’re playing two singles and two doubles away in 90 degree heat. That’s going to give us a good barometer on where we are at the present time.”
WKU will also play the Middle Tennessee Invitational in Murfreesboro October 1-2 for its final action of the fall season.
